Footwear-Sox

Do any of you size nine and a half women have trouble with hosiery?  You know, the knee
-high stockings that decide to slip down under your pant suit at the wrong time.  (Is there
a right time?)  If your height fits the shoe size I'm talking about, you get the picture.  Have
had to resort to wide calf manufacturers, which is O.K., but they're so limited with  color
and design.  Don't extra size women like pretty?  You bet they do!

This brings me to socks.  I have been wearing men's hose for years.  They're the only ones
that fit after washing.   They have changed so.  Crews used to stay up without chocking
your leg just below the calf muscle.  If you have a little edema, check the ballooning when
you take them off.  Trust me, they did not always make them this way.  I have two old pair
that I save for long trips...finely woven and soft.  They are not falling apart either.  If you
buy a pair today, you're lucky you don't find a hole at the heel or toe within months.

All I'm asking is where has quality gone?  I'd be willing to pay more for something good that
fits and will last more than a year.
