Senator Kerry had a hearing in November, his wife Theresa Heinz Kerry wrote an article in the Boston Herald. The House is "considering REPEAL". What needs to happen is for the legislators in the "affected states" and those who "understand" the unfairness inflicted on the public servants in 15 states... to put PRESSURE on the legislators and GET ACTION. Lip service has not affected change in 23 years...
Please write to your legislators or we wlll have to begin again to bring the issue up with new legislation!! Enough is enough.
Muriel T, MA, age 74, Retired Teacher of the Blind who receives 54% retirement and $0 in Social Security and $0 from my husband's earned benefits.

Comment on Footwear - Shoes

NIKE is the best store I have ever found for the shoe shopping they are providing huge discount on large variety of shoes.

Comment on The Cape and Beyond

Lovely site! Wires under computer desk must be blocked off.
One vet told us he gives his own pet vodka. For Kelsy, who is just under 60 pounds, I use one half teaspoon of 80 proof in a small amt. of yogurt. (Have to stay away from calcium, as she can develop stones on a normal diet.)
Since she has been on the special diet, current Vet suggested a little chicken treat once in a while. Her mainstay treat is plain rice cakes. No salt, no sugar, just 40 calories a cake and they are broken up into about 5-6 pieces. She loves them.

Comment on We the Forgotten In 15 States

After the 23 years that public servant employees have been denied their earned Soc Security benefits and/or their spousal benefits, the affected have hopes for REPEAL. A local (Cape Cod) columnist was contacted, did research and wrote a piece entitled "A SOCIAL DISGRACE".Replies in support of REPEAL followed. DEMONSTRATIONS have taken place at the office of a supportive Representative. We were told that, for the first time in 23 years, the H 82 bill for REPEAL will come out of committee... and most likely pass. It was related that "REPEAL is NOT EXPECTED (S 206)in the Senate". ("There is no money to spare!") Women (widows/divorcees) compromise the majority in dire straits. Their CREDITABLE WORK YEARS toward good pensions, as well as earning generally lower salaries contribute to this. Their traditional duties: raising children/care of elderly parents are a reality. Women also live longer than men. Because they are being denied their rightful (and needed) SSecurity benefits, town/state agencies are now dealing with having to provide assistance. "A DIRTY SECRET" should be given light. Public employees who "love their work", have actually quit upon learning the reality in 15 states, their benefits are severely destined to be implemented: they are pulling out BEFORE being vested in these "public" retirements. Society will miss them, but they will have avoided being deprived of their benefits. The other 35 states have "affected" persons as folks move. PLEASE HELP BY GETTING EDUCATED RE: SSecurity Pension Offsets and Windfall Elimination AND "speak on it" to friends/relatives/strangers!!! YOUR efforts could bring Congress to "do the right thing" for our elderly.
We are connecting signatures on petitions to REPEAL. Well they did. The 3D drawing charge would be 5 times what another company quoted. The mold is the very pricey metal one that could cost up to $12,000. Do you think they are trying to discourage me? There are other methods for short runs. I just want to see if this thing can fly. Then, we'll look into five figure molds.
Some days I feel as though I am running in place.

Well, today is Sunday. I decided to sweep those acorns off the driveway. A little exercise doesn't hurt. Actually, the endorphin release helps relieve pain. (Sweep faster. This cost a little over a thousand, including the $500 state filing fee. It is well worth it, as I hope to sell at least one product. I left copies of "it" at the lawyer's...good to have a paper trail.
Next I called plastic manufacturing companies, thanks to Thomasnet, that do prototyping and/or short production. If we thought it was workable, I sent two signed copies of a simple nondisclosure agreement and waited for one to come back through the mail. After receiving signatures from each company, I mailed copies of the creation so as to get proposals.
Not that I haven't heard. Problem is, one only does metal molds that would cost five figures. Another can do everything but fuse two parts together, suggesting that they can be glued. N.G. Another would get back to
me in two weeks the last time I talked to them.
Am back to Thomasnetting and more phone calls. I will keep you posted.
